Been a while between updates but don't worry The M-16s are still alive and kicking. The band has a new drummer, Warren Hall, who has previously hit sticks with The Volcanics, The Drones and Gutterville Splendor Six. He has been with the band for over a year now and is firmly entrenched in the lineup.

The M-16s also have a couple of songs featured on several new compilations; you can hear their cover of Monday Morning Gunk on the Radio Birdman tribute Flattey Vol 3 (NoMango Records) while Losing Time is on the long awaited A Fistful Of Rock Vol 13 (Steelcage Records)

You can also hear The M-16s backing Johnny Casino on the track Cowboys & Indians on his great new album New Clothes, Old Shoes. Ken also plays guitar on the track Keep On Keepin' On.

The band's next album is nearing completion. Word is it is sounding awesome and well worth the wait.

Hey kids, Killer here to say a few words. What can I say, we're busy whipping our new drummer into line. His name is Jamie Hamilton, but we call him sticks and he's really hauling some arse. Kicking it good! In other news, the new singles should be out soon. We're just putting on the finishing touches. There will be 3 singles to come out and then our album will be on it's way. I'm itching to get back into the studio and start playing shows. All right kids, sleep tight and remember, real rock n roll never surrenders to fashions or trends. Over and out.............Killer!

As those who were at the single launch would know, the M-16's drummer Adam has left the band in anticipation of moving to Melbourne to reform his old band, Fourstroke. No news yet on a replacment. He will, however, be hanging around long enough to play on the band's next set of recordings - the band are set to go back into Poon's Head Studio's in three weeks time.

In other news, I've added a new live review from the band's single launch.

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone. Now that the band is back in action hopefully you will see this webpage updated more often

The M-16s will be playing their first live gig, Friday 28th September at The Amplifier Bar in Perth. This gig was supposed to be in support of Sydney band and close comrades Asteroid B-612, who unfortunely have had to cancel due to the collapse of Ansett Airlines. However, the gig will still go ahead featuring some of the best punk/rock bands in Perth including Jed Whitey, Capitol City and Helana.

In other news, the band have a new drummer, Adam, who also plays with fuzzed-out rockers Fourstroke. The bands previous drummer, Brad Cleary, left to concentrate on his other band, Superscope. There is no harsh feelings between the two groups. Brad did however play on the bands current set of recordings, that are yet to be officially released.

Speaking of which, the M-Sixteens are still planning on releasing several 7 inch singles in the near future. More information to come.
